Check out our newspaper! We created it to commemorate Benton Community's 50th Anniversary. Students got to work interviewing former students and staff at Benton Community. We had an in-person interview featuring Candi Benesh using our green screen at Keystone Elementary and also conducted two email interviews with Amy Kaiser and Marilyn Schlotterbeck. The kids brainstormed questions to ask each person and we set to work writing articles to spotlight each. They learned the difference between restating what a person said, and actually quoting them.
The kiddos also got to work designing a birthday "ad", creating a comic strip, finding old photos, and writing articles for our newspaper.
