• write a personal narrative with characters, a setting, a problem, and a solution with at least two sequenced events.
• summarize and synthesize important information from a text.
• analyze story elements in a text (characters, setting, problem, solution).
• understand that two parts, when put together, equal one whole (part + part = whole).
• solve problems by finding the missing part. (whole - part = part).
• understand the relationship between addition and subtraction (fact families).
