We had our first group performance for Bobcat Time today!
During this 20-minute block of time, your child has an opportunity to work closely in a small group of other children on literacy-oriented skills. 1U and 1H students all mix together and are grouped by strengths as well as areas/skills they need to continue working on to be successful readers and writers. Each small group of 4-6 students meets with a teacher or associate to work on these skills in a quiet area. We're doing things like word building, nonsense word decoding, phonics review, sight word review/practice, reader's theater, reading fiction and nonfiction books and answering questions, and practicing fluency with repeated readings of good fit texts.
