Author's Chair

Occasionally throughout the week, we participate in Author's Chair.  During this time, students have an opportunity to share their writing pieces with the class.  This writing occurs during Daily Five writing time as I am working with small groups of students during guided reading, so it is largely independent and student-driven.  Students get to pick their own topics and decide how they'd best like to convey their message to the reader, whether that is through a letter, a book, or an essay.  This class LOVES to write their own books.  We have books about pizza and ice cream, among others, in the works at the moment in 1H!
