"I Can" Statements: Week of February 22nd

Sorry for missing last week!  Whenever there's a change in routine, I tend to forget things...old age? (Eeek!)

Here are next week's learning targets:

I can...
  • read and write words with the variant vowel -or.
  • identify medial vowel sounds in words.
  • differentiate medial sounds in words.
  • substitute medial sounds in words.
  • summarize what is seen in pictures and in text.
  • use fix-up monitoring strategies to understand.
  • write a letter with the date, a greeting, a message, and a closing.
  • understand the term "double" as double addends in an addition sentence (i.e. 5+5=10 is double 5).
  • make a 10 to add (i.e. 9+4 can be thought of as 10+3).
  • understand the relationship between addition and subtraction (fact families).
  • add three addends (i.e. 3+4+1=8)
This week's Spelling/Word Work words:

port
shore
more
roar
door
thorn
sore
floor
chore
tore
