The following is something I am (once again...) copying and pasting from Ms. Upah's blog. I was out at a doctor's appointment all this morning and haven't had time to craft an update about our awesome field trip yesterday, and Ms. Upah has such a way with words :)
We had an AWESOME day yesterday! Students were engaged in their task, collaborating with others, and using technology to make the world a better place. Below are some pictures of our time at the GWAEA. Over the next few days, we'll be sharing their projects. We need your help! The goal that the students came up with was to collect socks from all 50 states. Please spread the word to family and friends by email, Facebook, Twitter, phone calls, etc. They may mail the socks to VHE with a note that explains who they are connected to. Last year we hung these notes in the hallway and everyone really enjoyed reading them. Students especially loved getting mail at school. Last year, we were able to collect socks from all over the US and even received a few pairs from European countries. We will be talking about each place and mapping it with an online tool called Batch Geo.
PLEASE let me know if you have any questions. Check out the flyer that Carson, Cole B., and Brady made yesterday in the Scale-Up classroom. This will be going home with ALL students K-6 throughout the district.
