You'll notice a yellow permission form coming home in your child's Take Home Folder tonight.
There are 600,000 people without a home on any given night in the United States. This October, SoulPancake and Kid President want one million people to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of the homeless!
(Check out Kid President's video!)
Over the next few weeks, students will be working to promote our Socktober project in a variety of ways, including but not limited to posters, flyers, a mug design, a t-shirt design, a letter or two to the editor, yard signs, and videos.
The first graders are super excited to be leading this charge. The conversation we've heard between them is truly joyful noise.
We will be collecting new socks of all sizes through the end of the month. Sutdents will be planning and creating the items listed above to promote their cause and share this project in the community. Only first names will be placed on the various promotional items.
Please sign and return the form indicating you give your permission for your child to share his or her wonderful work with the community.
Email or call with any questions :) Keep checking our blog to see how your child is making a difference in the lives of many!
