"I Can" Statements: Week of October 19th

There will be NO SCHOOL Monday for Professional Development!  I wanted to get a jumpstart on our weekly "I Can" statements.

I can...

• read and write words with 3-letter blends (spl-, squ-, str-, spr-, scr-)
• blend and segment sounds in words.
• substitute initial sounds in words.
• name the characters in the story.
• describe the characters in the story.
• use a complete sentence when writing.
• identify the "who" and the "what" (subject/predicate) in a sentence.
• use future tense when writing.
• divide shapes into equal parts.
• describe the equal parts with words.
