Summer Skills Book

It's crazy to think today marked the 150th day of school!  Time truly does fly by in the blink of an eye sometimes!

Now's the time to start thinking about summer and keeping your child going.  The "summer slide" is a real phenomenon, and we'd like to avoid it at all costs!  I'll be sending a spiral bound book home with each child to work on this summer.  This book will be a review of first grade skills including telling time, fact fluency, sight word reading/spelling, writing, reading and responding, alphabetical order, and number writing/patterns.

The book is broken down by weeks and days (Week 1, Day 1) and goes up until Week 9, Day 5.  The tasks are in half-page increments, so this work should only take your child about 15 minutes to complete (if that!)  The great thing about it is it's a quick review of first grade skills.  Your child will spend the majority of their days in the sun, catching bugs, swimming, riding their bikes, and enjoying family time :)

Look for this summer skills book to come home prior to summer break!

If you have questions at all, please let me know!
