"I Can" Statements: Week of January 11th

Here are our learning targets for this week!

I can...
  • read and write words with long o digraphs.
  • identify long vowel sounds.
  • differentiate long vowel sounds in words.
  • substitute medial (middle) sounds in words.
  • vary sentence beginnings.
  • write a book review, stating an opinion and supporting details.
  • make inferences using pictures and words in a story.
  • make connections with pictures and words in a story using prior knowledge.
  • recognize numbers on a ten frame in relationship to 5 and 10.
  • find missing parts of 10.
  • show 10 as two parts.
  • understand a double (i.e. 5+5=10)
  • understand near doubles (i.e. 6+5=11)
  • solve problems by finding the missing part. (whole - part = part).
  • understand the relationship between addition and subtraction (fact families).
