"I Can" Statements: Week of January 4th

Welcome back!  I hope your break was restful and joyous.  I'm sure you're ready to send your kiddos back to school to get back into the routine of things :)

Here are this week's learning targets:

• read and write words with long a digraphs (paid, play, etc.)
• identify long vowel sounds.
• differentiate long vowel sounds in words.
• substitute medial (middle) sounds in words.
• vary sentence beginnings.
• write a book review, stating an opinion and supporting details.
• make inferences using pictures and words in a story.
• make connections with pictures and words in a story using prior knowledge.
• recognize numbers on a ten frame in relationship to 5 and 10.
• find missing parts of 10.
• show 10 as two parts.
